KORKED™ BLUE

KORKED™ BLUE : Objective of these closures are fresh and fruity wines, still and also light sparkling wines, and all the still “ready-to-drink” wines, also with great structure and body, that do not require any refinement period in the bottle.
KORKED™ BLUE is the closure that assures the highest protection level to your wines, no matter which are their structure and body.
KORKED™ BLUE is not a refinement stopper, but for wine maintenance.

Why the membrane?

The bottles stoppered with this special closure keep in the inside a very reduced level of permeability to O2. With reference to the one-piece natural corks, regarding the permeability to O2 it can be said that, the membrane used in KORKED™ BLUE comes directly from the experience on corks with high density approximately equal to 220kg/m3.


The study on the high density natural cork revealed itself very useful also to preserve the concentration of SO2 and CO2, that, in different ways, are the protagonists in the wine bottle stoppered with KORKED™ BLUE. The right management of these three gases inside the bottle is a difficult task also for a one-piece excellent natural cork. For all these needs KORKED™ BLUE manufactured a very selective membrane, that :

• Allows the passage of a very low quantity of O2
• Keeps high and stable levels of free SO2
• Keeps stable levels of endogenous CO2

Ready-to-drink wines.

All the wines are not suitable to the refinement in the bottle (for wines to be refined see KORKED™ PRO), moreover many producers introduce their wines to the market exactly in the moment in which they are considered at the optimum condition for consumption. Evidently this does not mean that they are not suitable for the refinement in the bottle, but it simply means that they can also be tasted right away. The maintenance of the organoleptic characteristics desired by the producer and the elimination of the reduced taste, that can appear just a few months after bottling, are the peculiarities of KORKED™ BLUE for this wines range.

Fresh and fruity wines.

Who produces these wines and those who drink them have just one need : that the fresh and fruity characters peculiar to these wines can be conserved as long as possible.
KORKED™ BLUE closures have been manufactured to resist to the maximum pressure of 2,5bar(*).
Fresh and lightly sparkling wines bottled with KORKED™ BLUE keep unchanged their organoleptic characteristics for at least 24 months and this at complete advantage for the consumer and the producer.


KORKED™ BLUE are not recognizable from the outside, but only in the inside for the characteristic blue (membrane) holder.

(*) KORKED™ does not guarantee the use of KORKED™ BLUE closures for wines that generate (also for temperature effect) endogenous pressures higher than 2,5bar.
